The respected Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) has again confirmed status as a leading institution in the sector.

The AACSB extended its accreditation of Bayes for six years following a peer review visit in February. It means that Bayes maintains its status as one of the few business schools globally to have the ‘triple crown’ of accreditation – with recognition by EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) and AMBA (Association of MBAs).

Stephanie Bryant, Executive Vice President and Global Chief Accreditation Officer at AACSB, said: “The commitment to earning accreditation is a true reflection of each school’s dedication – not only to its students, alumni network and the greater business community – but to society as a whole.”

The AACSB team working with Bayes were particularly impressed by the research themes that shape the School’s research. These include:

  • Alleviating societal challenges – such as climate change, conflict and the impact of ageing populations in many western countries
  • The future of finance
  • Technologies and innovation, with a particular focus on AI
  • Making sense of the transforming world.

Welcoming the news, , Dean of Bayes Business School, said: “It is tremendous to have this independent confirmation that we remain amongst the select group of business schools to have the ‘triple crown’ of accreditation. It also confirms that our academics undertake high quality research that has relevance for businesses and policymakers in the UK and beyond our shores.

“I am very grateful to both our academics and professional support staff for their hard work in maintaining those standards and their commitment to continuous improvement. It is obviously encouraging that the AACSB were impressed by our research themes – which have been developed to focus our research activity while exploiting the opportunities presented by our merger with St George’s.”

The AACSB accreditation process includes an in-depth assessment of internal activities and a peer-reviewed evaluation focused on continuous improvement. The AACSB’s principles-based standards require excellence in areas such as strategic management and innovation, research, and teaching and learning.
